LG has released a teaser video that showcases many features of the upcoming G3. LG’s next installment, the G3 phone is slated to release on 27th May, two weeks from now. Ahead of G3’s official launch, the teaser video gives indications of how the features will be like.
The video, being a part of LG’s teaser campaign emphasizes heavily on the edges and the brushed making of the device. Just few days back, a leaked screenshot was released on Gsmarena. The screenshot brought into perspective some salient features. The leaked video confirmed some of them.
LG G3’s previous appearances were inside a case. We also had close-up shots with blurred effects when the device was out of the case. But the leaked screenshot helped us get an even better look at G3. The device appeared with a range of color options such as gold, metallic silver and white. In the teaser video, we see the device in shiny black metallic texture.
The erstwhile leaked image also showed both the front and back of G3 will have metallic look. After the leak of the image, there was a confusion among analysts as to whether LG G3 would indeed sport a metallic body or whether it will have a plastic body with metallic paint. After the release of the teaser video this doubt still exists as the video doesn’t shed any light on the build material. We still don’t know whether G3’s body will be made of aluminum, highly textured plastic or silver.
The video is not long. It’s duration is just 36 seconds. Not much of details actually came out due to that. One design element highlighted was the lens of the camera. It should be mentioned here that the 16MP back camera is one of the most talked about specs of G3. The video gives no clue whether the camera would be of 16MP resolution or of 13MP, but the apparent look of the camera has made us feel that it will capture great quality still images.
The Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) is a highly anticipated feature in G3. The feature is confirmed by the video. There was a brief shot of the moving camera lens which indicates G3 will pack OIS.
LG G3 is rumored to be perhaps the most remarkable handset of 2013 as it may sport a range of advanced features like QHD screen, 3GB RAM, Water and dust resistance, 4K display resolution, 5.5 inch screen and octa core Odin processor.
As OIS and a powerful camera would be vital parts of G3, we could assume 4K display. The 1440 x 2560 pixels display would be unparallel in the industry as no other device could stream such high resolution content. Subsequently, we could justify the larger screen. As for sound effect, the video shows three crucial specs in the phone;
- Buttons assembly on the backside of the phone.
- The rear-mounted speaker.
- The earpiece of the phone.
The sleek exterior and the polished edges indicate the phone would score high in user satisfaction. The screen hasn’t been shown in the video, but hopefully it will be of 5.5 inch.
As the official launch date for G3 is May 27 in London, we need to wait two more weeks to see it ourselves whether the speculations based on previous rumors and the teaser video turn true.
